From the age of seven, Debra Ball-Elderkin has been performing in front of audiences. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, she first performed as a dancer, then a musician, and began public speaking engagements by the age of 16. Her enthusiasm for performing continued to grow as she auditioned and was cast in six consecutive musical theater productions by Puget Sound Musical Theater—an experience that later fueled her desire to study acting and pursue a career in television.
Recognizing that Seattle didn’t offer the television opportunities she had hoped for, Debra graduated from Pima Medical Institute and continued a career as a certified orthodontic assistant and treatment coordinator for over 8 years. As fate had it, a move to Florida surprisingly opened the door of opportunity in television she had desired for so long.
Upon finding her niche as a television host and corporate spokesperson, it’s been rare to find Debra not involved in her career. Between hosting the statewide magazine show, New Florida on PBS, hosting the Florida Home Show on UPN and FOX, and co-hosting StihlTV on Fox Sports, CNBC and the Outdoor Chanel, she hosts corporate videos for such clients as ALCOA, Alamo/National Rental Car, Federated Department Stores, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, FPL and many others. Debra also maintains an active modeling career. Recent credits include print, broadcast, radio voiceover and catalog work for such clients as Macy's, Visa, Disney, AT&T, George Forman products and Avalon Resorts, as well as appearing on numerous regional and national television commercials.
Debra still manages to find time in her busy schedule to enjoy some of her favorite pastimes like golf, jet skiing, boating, dance, photography, and traveling. As an active member of her community, her philanthropic activities include the Ocean Conservancies Coastal Cleanup and Hands on Miami, where she volunteers with the Community Partnership for the Homeless, the South Miami Community Center, Habitat For Humanity, and the Ronald McDonald House at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
With over 10 years of television hosting experience, including hosting such shows as 20 Something, Healthy Living, Today’s Home, and Family Focus, this versatile and talented host has just begun to fulfill her dreams.
